It's overkill for a lot of gigs but that's how I like it.
MUSIQ SOUL CHILD BASS COVER FULL
I usually run the EVs full range at -12 and watch the volume when putting out a lot of bass. You might be able to get a pair in an SUV, not positive though. The JBL subs are good but won't really come alive until you get 4 of them I would still think the ETX18 would fit the bill - a little smaller than the Yorkville, better sound quality, built in DSP. Good thing, because only one will fit in your new SUV. Big bass, kind of boomy but a single sub will cover most wedding type events and parties of up to 200. for subs you could get the Yorkville LS801P. You know the rep, they have the power you need and you have the experience to not blow them up on the first gig. My speaker guy keeps telling me about other not so well known brands from Italy.Intrusting.īTW, he's like the last official JBL Recone guy in existence.Eric.įor what your wanting I think you should go with the ZXa5s for tops. The guys above mentioned some very solid options with these two tops. △ No LPF (your sub or an external DSP will need a HPF)

△ Lower crossover point due to 4" driver (projects a tighter, farther, more focused sound) △ 4" high compression driver (gets smooth, loud and clear)

△ No limiting and requires external limiting device (eg: DriveRack) for best protection △ Can get raspy/harsh as the loudest volumes (tuxedo look for wedding pics/subdued design) △ 15" driver (sounds great standalone for crowds up to 150 or so) △ Louder than all affordable powered 2-way tops (period) What are the comparable subs that YOU guys would get? So let's assume it's either the ZXA5 or the RCF 745A. :-)īut again like gaf said there are a number of great options in your price range Then again, belonging to the ZXA5 crew has it's benefits as well. I was also considering having to buy that DriveRack thing if I got the EV's as well, but if the 745's have the "Caution" light, and a limiter, and a smoother sound.that's pretty good. I'm pretty good with my ears, but noone is perfect. Yeah, I saw that look."Eh".EV's are way sexier.

The looks are a knock against the 745's as they don't look quite as professional as the EV's. One dude on here said they're almost as loud as the EV's but noticeably smoother sounding, which is partly due to their large 4" horn (the EV's have a 2" horn driver). You won't have that problem with the 745A's because they have limiters (although all speakers are capable of being blown). I use an external DSP sometimes with them when I know I'll play for a large crowd. If you're not careful, they're subject to go. There's no little yellow light that tells you they're being pushed too hard. I own the ZXA5's but my knock on them is that they lack built-in limiting. I'm looking for a good, better and best option for whatever sub y'all recommend. So what is your total budget? per sub & per top?Īssume I can pay for the ZXA5's, I'm budgeting for that already.
